Day 4 of a 50+ lady learning to ride a motorcycle

Planes, bikes and automobiles

My lovely husband decided to accompany me on a ride out today and take the lead. As today was the day of the annual airshow in Folkestone, I naturally believed that we would head somewhere less busy. Oh dear, how wrong I was. Travelling into Folkestone via Cheriton was relatively uneventful, although turning right onto on coming traffic at the traffic lights was a little hair raising. I managed to cross the carriageway without being squashed and followed Hubby towards the A259, the dreaded Sandgate Road. The weirdo drivers were out again.

Whilst waiting at a junction to turn right, 3 cars came from the right hand side and they all seemed to not see the traffic island that was indirectly opposite me. All 3 performed a miraculous manoeuvre which entailed them swerving past parked cars and swerving back in to miss the island narrowly missing me in the process!

Thankfully, that was the last incident of the day and we headed home experiencing a warm and carefree journey.
